RFT Portfolio Project – Evaluation Of Prorealalgos Prorealtime Systems Begins

Overview

As part of the RFT Portfolio Project I have begun to evaluate a number of systems to see what is out there in the Prorealtime Algo market and if there are any systems that would meet my criteria for inclusion in the portfolio

The evaluation has a couple of stages:

  • Initial review @ 1 point looking for draw downs, distributions of results etc (Free content)
  • Deeper dive for those passing the initial review (Full member content)
  • Exploring results with the RFT money management rules (Full member content)
  • Looking at adding filters, updating stops and take profits and potentially merging systems (Full member content)

Following this the system will either be included in the RFT Portfolio in base form, a modded form, held for future review or discarded

In the article below I run through my first thoughts and impressions of all the Prorealalgos systems that have been made available in the three week trial

To be clear I am running the trial codes to evaluate the product I have not purchased their bots

Who Are Prorealalgos?

One of the main reasons that I chose to review there systems was that when you look at their social, youtube, affiliate program and web design they have really nailed it. I first came across them as Prorealtime algos in 2020, I know that the name caused some concern at the time as Prorealtime was trademarked and some were concerned that it appeared that there may be confusion between the brands. This has now changed with them going by Prorealalgos but I may use the old name by accident in the videos

May look to combine with the 5M system, however the 5M system is PRA+ where back tests take several minutes so this may not be viable to research

PRTA Nasdaq 2M & 30M @ 1.5 Point Spread

Summary:

30M doing well at the moment, having performed some initial research I feel that by working with the stops and adding a take profit that the entry signal can be used to provide more balanced returns across the period. Researching further

Overall:

The offerings were always going to be good from the Prorealalgos team as mentioned before in my eyes once the ability to sell algos was announced on Prorealcode.com this team seemed to emerge as the market leader. As a business looking externally they appear to be doing everything right in terms of marketing strategy.

Personally from a systems point of view I favour the PRA+ algos, however due to the complex nature of the indicator they are slow to test and may be difficult to attempt to modify.

Overall there are six systems to look at further:

PRA+ Cac 5M

PRA+ FTSE 5M

PRA+ Crude 5M

PRA+ Nasdaq 5M

PRTA SP500 3M

PRTA Nasdaq 30M

The next steps will be to evaluate the effectiveness with which they use capital, live vs back test correlations and then comparing key stats with the other systems available that trade the same product, perhaps even creating some hybrid systems using two or more signals within the same system

Keep an eye out for the follow up testing content and detailed break downs of the systems for full members
